A game about trying to find the last bit of green in a frozen-white world.

Introduction

Earth has frozen over. A green-blue marble became a silver-white wasteland. Surrounded by remnants of life, you are a lone survivor, tasked by research engines with finding living chlorophyll - a sample which might be propagated to return the planet's greenery. But saving the future might be tricky if you can't save yourself, and finding a needle in all of Earth's white void might be impossible.

Goals

  • Explore the surrounding area
  • Collect resources nearby to avoid dying of freezing, hunger, and asphyxiation
  • Return to your base to process resources and keep exploring
  • Find the source of the Green Signal

Controls

  • Press Enter or Click 'Next' to proceed text story (story so far is persistent and can be scrolled)
  • WASD or Arrow Keys to move around the world (keep an eye on your oxygen!)
  • Press Space on highlighted Points of Interest to interact with it.
  • Press Shift or Q to place a beacon. This helps with getting lost in the featureless void!

Made for Mini Jam 166: Earth as a fun little interim project, a refresher on Godot 3, and experimentation with groups, pausing, balancing and rapid iteration. If you play it, I'd appreciate knowing how difficult you found it, as I have very little experience balancing resource-based survival games and would love some feedback!
